Medicine Hat to test for asbestos fibres following televised news report about water pipes

Medicine Hat, Alta. – Concerns about asbestos in its drinking water has prompted the city to take action. A recent report by CTV’s W5 addressed how fibres from aging asbestos cement pipes might be entering municipal water supplies. In response to the program, local residents called into the city with their concerns. Council has subsequently opted to test for fibres at city locations to gain a better picture on the issue.
